The ExPen Test is a colorimetric system that reacts virtually immediately to
explosive substances or residues (down to 20 nano grams per mm2), producing
visible color change, easily detected by the human eye. Tests can be conducted
with enclosed test papers or reagents can be applied directly to suspected substances/surfaces
(if conditions permit).
The ExPen is able to detect explosives both in liquid and solid forms. ExPen
is also capable of detection both pre-and post-blast. ExPen covers most manufactured
explosives and virtually 100% of used improvised explosive compounds.
